Bio-Growth – Cylindrical design enables water to be collected and removed easily. Management of water removal will control bio-growth activity.
Cylindrical tanks offer less surface area to high sunlight temperatures and tend to maintain a more stable temperature range inside.
High fluctuations of temperature, as found under a large rectangular roof for example, will generate a large amount of condensation. This will drop into the product and accumulate on the bottom of the tank. When combined with dark, stillness and food, this will provide the perfect conditions for bio-growth.
Cylindrical tanks are far easier to clean and maintain. Should signs of bio-growth be seen, it is recommended that the tank is emptied and cleaned by hand.
